Frequently Asked Questions
1. How do I choose the right business deposit account?
The right starting point depends on where your business is today.
- If you’re a newer business owner looking for simple, affordable daily banking, Entrepreneur Business Checking is designed for you.
- If your business manages higher transaction volumes or needs multi-user banking access, Elite Business Checking is the better fit.
- For reserve-building alongside your checking account, Business Savings earns tiered interest while keeping funds accessible.
- For larger balances that need to work harder, Business Money Market delivers tiered interest with full banking access.
Your Relationship Banker can walk you through the options and help you find the right fit — or the right combination.
2. Do I need a business checking account to open Business Savings?
Yes. Business Savings must be opened and maintained alongside an Entrepreneur Business Checking or Elite Business Checking account at New Omni Bank. The monthly maintenance fee waiver for Business Savings is also calculated on a combined average daily balance across both accounts.
3. Can I have more than one of these accounts?
Yes, and many of our business clients do. A common structure is a checking account for daily operations, a Business Savings account for operating reserves, and a Business Money Market or Business CD for longer-term cash. Your Relationship Banker can help you determine the right combination for your business.
4. What do I need to open a business deposit account?
Requirements vary depending on your business structure — sole proprietorship, partnership, LLC, or corporation. Generally you will need government-issued identification, your business formation documents, and your Employer Identification Number (EIN) or Social Security Number. Speak with a Relationship Banker or visit any of our branches for a complete list of requirements.
5. What is the FDIC coverage limit for business accounts?
Deposits at New Omni Bank are insured by the FDIC up to $250,000 per depositor, per insured bank, for each account ownership category. Businesses with larger balances may wish to speak with their Relationship Banker about structuring options. For more information, visit fdic.gov.
